The Whiting Bay Seniors Open was played on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June in superb conditions. The course was playing fast and true and the sunny weather and excellent catering was enjoyed by all who participated. Over 70 cards were processed over the 2 days and the CSS on both days was 36 points. Many thanks go to Jackie and Colin Nisbet, and Wolfi and Gege Kroner for their generous sponsorship over the 2 days. On Monday the winner with 39 points was Colin Nisbet, 2nd John Dick 38 points (acb), 3rd Bob Hastings 38 points (acb), 4th Gus MacLeod 38 points. Gus won scratch with 72 and had 2 Magic 2s. Magic 2s also scored by Paul King and John Dick. On Day 2 Bob Tait from Glenbervie was the winner with 41 points, 2nd David Brookens 40 points, 3rd Tam Buchanan 37 points, 4th Gus MacLeod 36 points. David Brookens won scratch with 72 and there was only one Magic 2, by Peter Towndrow at the 14th. The overall winner of the Seniors trophy (and a years use of the Seniors Rocking Chair!) was Bob Tait, who also won the Super Seniors prize for 65 and overs. David Brookens won the best overall scratch.
