Captain Gus MacLeod present Corey Allan with the J C Reid Trophy
|Malcolm Pennycott - Club Champion 2013|
Sunday 9th June. The finals of the JC Reid Trophy and the Club Championship were played in glorious conditions, with the course looking stunning. The JC Reid trophy was lifted by Corey Allan, winning his first adult trophy. His match with Graeme Crichton was very close and it took an extra hole before they could be split, with Corey squeezing out his win. The final of the Club Championship was played between Malcolm Pennycott, who beat Jamie Stewart in the semi and Jamie MacPherson, who beat Ryan Armstrong in the other semi. In the final Jamie got off to a strong start, rushing to a 3 hole lead after 5, although steady golf brought Malcolm level at the 8th. Holes were exchanged for the next few holes before a stunning 2nd shot of Jamie's at the 18th to 3 feet gave him the halfway lead by one. In the afternoon Malcolm played some excellent golf and was 4 under par after 12 holes, and 4 up. Some inspired putting from Jamie kept the match alive before Malcolm closed out the match at the 16th. Credit to both players for the quality of golf and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Fixtures - Sunday 16th, Gents Medal. Wednesday 19th, Summer Trophy.
