24 played in this popular early season Stableford and after the seemingly endless wet weather a few dry days made a huge difference to the course. Danny Head returned an very impressive 43 points to win by 6 points from his nearest challenger, John Parker-Jones.

Playing against Brodick, Whiting Bay ladies fought out a halved match with Gill Lockhart and Lynda Blair securing a 6 and 4 victory while Doreen Mainds and Lesley Wood fought a close match only to be edged out by 2 and 1

Playing against Lamlash GC in the final round of matches Whiting Bay ladies needed one point to retain the prestigious Kiscadale Salver. They duly managed that with one win and one loss in the two game format. Congratulations to all in the squad who played their part over the four ties played. Here’s a picture of the squad and supporters enjoying a moderate celebratory libation after their sterling efforts. All made it safely home – eventually.
